Glassware

When it comes to transporting glass, one of the most important things to think about is packing the load beforehand. When transporting fragile goods simple container will not be enough. You have to fill the areas between your load and walls of the container with materials that will stop any jolting of the glass during transport. The best way to guarantee that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will prevent potential tremors and protect your glass from fracturing. Additionally you need to cover your cargo with bubble wrap, especially all the parts that are delicate and extra fragile. Close the bubble wrap with Scotch tape to make certain the bubble wrap will not unfold during transport. When you are done wrapping, you need to fil all of the empty space left in the container – with Styrofoam or even newspapers.

If you have to ship large pieces of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you ought to not only secure it from breaking, but also from scratching. You must surround the glassware with thick layer of bubble foil, close it with Scotch tape and place it in a container. Make sure to mention on top of the container that the package is fragile. You could also use pre-made stamps for glassware loads.

Smaller glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to place them in a box so that they will not knock against each other while shipped. In similar manner you should transport porcelain and crystals. When transporting big glassware elements (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or towels.

Price of glassware transport varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, distance and delivery days. Additional price-defining aspect is whether or not you want to use professional packing materials as well as aid securing the cargo.
