Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only expensive, but also not easy to secure when transported. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with transport we had gathered. It is possible to ship a motorbike or a moped without difficulties, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some useful advice you will prevent any damages, and dents that often happen if a moped or motorcycle is not properly cared for.

When you are moving the motorcycle using a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It is crucial to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or objects that may possibly cut the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also possible to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing that should be taken under consideration will be installing the side pads to protect the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or another vehicle, can let you ship your motorbike not occupying the entire space in the truck.

Remember to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to transport your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you can receive  plenty of great quotes from shipping companies who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can arrange the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
