Glassware

When moving glassware, one of the crucial things to think about is securing the cargo for the transport. In this case simple container will not ensure safe transport. You have to fill the areas between your glassware and walls of the container with materials that will prevent movement of the glass during shipment. One of the ways to ensure that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will prevent potential tremors and protect your fragile cargo from damaging. Additionally you need to cover your glassware with bubble wrap, particularly all the parts that are thin and prone to damage. Fasten the bubble wrap with Scotch tape to make sure the bubble wrap will not loosen during shipment. When you finished wrapping, you should fil all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even pieces of cardboard.

If you need to move big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you should not only shield it from breaking, but also from scratching. You should surround the glassware with thick layer of bubble foil, tie it with adhesive tape and deposit it in a cardboard box. Make sure to write on top of the cardboard box that the box should be handled with care. You can also use pre-made labels for fragile packages.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} may be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next step is to place them in a cardboard box so that they won't knock against each other while transported. In similar manner you should secure porcelain and crystals. When transporting large glassware items (like chandeliers) it is good to use an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or towels.

Price of glassware transport depends on weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght as well as delivery dates. Additional price-defining aspect is whether or not you need expert packing materials as well as guidance securing the load.
