Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) poses an effective method of shipment of a not big freight which does not take a lot of space and is often stored on pallets. This method takes advantage of spare surface in the truck by merging more than one independent cargos. This kind of shipment is economical because people are able to split the price of the shipment with other people who also are planning to take some part of the cargo space available in the car. LTL cargos usually weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars specialised in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 t and need to be compatible with the rules that are in force in a given country. There are different versions of trucks which are appropriate to serve in the LTL, but they must be always correctly adjusted to the size of the products that are going to be delivered.

The financial aspect of the delivery is dependent on a few features. Primarly, height and width and mass of the commodity. The person ordering need to also give a carrier data about the packaging. You should also mention what you wish to be covered by the service – is it no more than the transportation or does it also include loading and unloading.

When you notice that space available via the less than truckload is not sufficient to ship your product, you may choose its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
