Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a practical way of delivery of a small product that does not require a big surface and is usually placed on pallets. Less that Truckload utilizes free surface in the car by a consolidation of several distinct freightages. This kind of shipment is cheaper as principals have an opportunity to share the price of the shipment with other people who also have to use some part of the surface available in the truck. LTL cargos commonly weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Trucks that are used in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 tons and are required to be congruous with the rules constituted in a particular country. There are numerous categories of cars which can be used in the LTL shipping, but they must be always correctly tailored to the type of the commodity which will be a part of the cargo.

The price of the transportation may vary depending on a few factors. Primarly, volume and mass of the product. The person who order a shipment need to also give a delivery man data about the packaging. Don’t forget to mention what you hope to be incorporated in the service – is it nothing but the transportation or does it also include loading and unloading.

If you realise that the cargo space available via the LTL is not enough to transport your cargo, you may want to decide to use another option – full truck load (FTL).
