Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes an effective method of shipment of a relatively small product which does not need a spacious place and can be usually transported on pallets. This method utilizes available space in the truck by merging several separate freightages. This method is cost-effective because principals can distribute the price of the shipment with other people that also have a need to take a share of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL freightages frequently weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars that are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 tons and are required to be in accordance with the specifications constituted in a particular region. There are different kinds of trucks which are suitable to serve in the LTL, but they should be always correctly tailored to the size of the cargos which will be moved.

The charge for the transportation is subject to a few aspects. Firstly, content and weight of the product. The person ordering should also present a transporter an information about the packaging. You should also mention what you hope to be incorporated in the service – is it no more than the transport or does it also include loading and unloading.

If you notice that area available via the LTL does not meet your requirements to dispatch your cargo, you may decide to use another option – full truck load (FTL).
