Glassware

When transporting glassware, the hardest part is packing the load beforehand. In this case simple container will not do. You have to fill the space between your glassware and walls of the package with materials that will help to avoid any jolting of the glass during shipment. One of the ways to ensure that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will stop potential tremors and therefore save your fragile load from damaging. Furthermore you could cover your load in bubble foil, especially all the elements that are delicate and extra fragile. Close the bubble foil with Scotch tape just to be sure the bubble wrap will not unfold during transport. When you are done covering, you should stuff all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you want to ship large items of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you have to not only shield it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You need to wrap the glassware in substantial sheet of bubble wrap, close it with Scotch tape and put it in a cardboard box. Make sure to write on top of the cardboard box that the package contains glassware. You can also use pre-made stickers for glassware loads.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} could be secured by old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next phase is to deposit them in a cardboard box so that they won't touch during transport. The same way you can transport porcelain and crystals. When dealing with bigger glassware items (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or clothes.

Price of glass transport varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, distance and delivery days. Additional price-defining factor is whether or not you want to use expert packing materials as well as assistance securing the load.
