When moving glass, one of the most important tasks is securing the cargo before transport. When transporting fragile goods simple package will not do. You need to pack the gaps between your load and walls of the package with substances that will block movement of the glass during shipment. One of the ways to guarantee that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or soft materials that will prevent possible jolting and therefore protect your glass from cracking. Furthermore you can cover your load in bubble wrap, particularly all the parts that are fine and extra fragile. Close the bubble wrap with Scotch tape to make sure it will not loosen during transport. When you are done wrapping, you need to pack all of the empty space left in the box – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you want to ship big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you have to not only protect it from shattering, but also from scratching. You need to surround the glass with substantial layer of bubble foil, close it with Scotch tape and store it in a container. Remember to write on top of the container that the package is fragile. You can also use pre-made stickers for glassware loads.

Smaller glassware (like goblets or bottles} could be secured by outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to put them in a container so that they won't touch while shipped. The same way you should package porcelain and crystals. When shipping big glass items (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or clothes.

Price of glassware shipment depends on weight and dimensions of the cargo, distance and delivery dates. Other price-defining aspect is whether or not you need professional packing materials and assistance securing the cargo.
