When moving glass, the crucial task is securing the cargo beforehand. When transporting fragile goods simple cardboard box will not be sufficient. You need to fill the gaps between your cargo and walls of the package with materials that can block any jolting of the glass throughout shipment. Good way to ensure that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or soft materials that will block possible tremors and therefore save your glass from cracking. Additionally you should wrap your cargo with bubble foil, especially all the parts that are thin and prone to damage. Fasten the bubble wrap with adhesive tape just to be sure it will not loosen during transport. When you finished covering, you should stuff all of the empty space left in the container – with Styrofoam or even pieces of cardboard.

If you need to ship big items of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you need to not only protect it from breaking, but also from scratching. You must surround the glassware with substantial layer of bubble foil, close it with Scotch tape and store it in a container. Remember to mention on top of the box that the container contains glassware. You may also use pre-made stamps for glassware loads.

Smaller glassware (like goblets or bottles} may be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next step is to deposit them in a box so that they will not touch while transported. In similar manner you can ship porcelain and crystals. When shipping bigger glassware products (like chandeliers) it is best to use an extra layer of soft materials, for example sponge or towels.

Price of glass shipment is determined by weight and dimensions of the load, distance as well as delivery dates. Another price-defining aspect is whether or not you require using professional packing materials as well as aid securing the load.
