Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also difficult to secure while being shipped. Though, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we had gathered. It is possible to transport a motorbike or a moped without hussle, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the method of transportation. Thanks to some useful tricks you will prevent any scratches, and dents that often happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are shipping your motorbike on a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer specially dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or objects that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also possible to transport a motorcycle inside a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned above. One thing worth considering is installing the side pads to secure the insides of the van and other objects that will accompany the motorbike.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or another vehicle, can help you transport your motorcycle without occupying the entire space in the truck.

Check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to ship your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will surely receive  multiple great offers from shipping providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can adjust the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
