Glassware

When transporting glass, the most important task is packing the cargo for the transport. In this case simple container will not be sufficient. You must fill the areas between your load and walls of the box with substances that can block any jolting of the glass during transport. Good way to do that is to fill the box with Styrofoam or soft materials that will block possible jolting and save your fragile cargo from breaking. Furthermore you could cover your cargo with bubble wrap, particularly all the elements that are thin and extra fragile. Secure the bubble foil with adhesive tape just to be certain it won’t loosen during shipment. When you finished wrapping, you need to fil all of the gaps in the box – with some spongy material or even pieces of cardboard.

If you have to ship big items of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you need to not only protect it from shattering, but also from scratching. You can surround the glassware with substantial sheet of bubble foil, close it with adhesive tape and deposit it in a cardboard box. Make sure to mention on top of the container that the box is fragile. You could also use pre-made stickers for glassware loads.

Smaller glassware (like glasses or bottles} may be secured by outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to place them in a cardboard box so that they will not knock against each other during transport. In similar manner you should ship porcelain and crystals. When shipping bigger glassware products (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or clothes.

Price of glass shipment is determined by weight and dimensions of the load, distance and delivery days. Additional price-defining aspect is whether or not you want to use professional packing materials as well as help securing the load.
