Glassware

When transporting glassware, one of the most important tasks is packing the load for the transport. In this case simple cardboard box will not be sufficient. You have to fill the gaps between your cargo and walls of the box with substances that can help to avoid any jolting of the glassware during shipment. The best way to guarantee that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or soft materials that will stop possible jolting and therefore protect your glassware from damaging. Additionally you need to wrap your load with bubble foil, especially all the elements that are delicate and extra fragile. Close the bubble foil with adhesive tape just to be sure it won’t unfold during shipment. After wrapping, you should stuff all of the empty space left in the container – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you have to ship big elements of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you have to not only shield it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You must surround the glass with thick layer of bubble foil, fasten it with Scotch tape and place it in a box. Remember to mention on top of the package that the box should be handled with care. You may also use pre-made stamps for delicate packages.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} may be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next phase is to store them in a box so that they won't knock against each other while shipped. In similar manner you should package porcelain and crystals. When dealing with bigger glassware items (like chandeliers) it is good to use an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or clothes.

Price of glassware shipment is connected with weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght and delivery dates. Additional price-defining aspect is whether or not you want to use expert packing materials and assistance securing the load.
