Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only valuable, but also hard to protect when shipped. Though, it turns out that everything depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we had gathered. It is feasible to transport a motorcycle or a scooter without troubles, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the type of shipment. Thanks to some helpful tricks you can prevent any damages, and dents that are likely to happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are shipping the motorcycle using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only two strapping belts. It's essential to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or parts that may possibly rip the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also possible to transport a motorbike inside a van. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration is installing the side pads to secure the insides of the van and other objects that may be transported just next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or another vehicle, can help you ship your motorbike without occupying the entire space in the van.

It is important to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to transport your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will receive  multiple great offers from transport companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
