Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also not easy to secure while being transported. Although, it turns out that everything depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with transport we had gathered. It is feasible to ship a motorbike or a scooter without difficulties, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of transportation. Owing to some useful advice you can avoid any scratches, and dents that are likely to happen when a scooter or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are moving the motorbike on a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only 2 belts. It is important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp angles or parts that may possibly tear up the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also feasible to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing to be considered is the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported with the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or another vehicle, can let you transport your motorbike without occupying the entire space in the van.

Check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will surely receive  lots of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their trucks. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of „empty runs”.
