Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only expensive, but also difficult to protect while being shipped. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we had gathered. It is possible to ship a motorcycle or a moped without problems, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the method of transportation. Thanks to some useful advice you could avoid any scratches, and dents that are likely to happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are transporting your motorbike on a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is created for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or objects that may possibly tear up the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also possible to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment obligatory to keep the motorbike mounted safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing that should be taken under consideration will be installing the side pads to secure the insides of the van and other objects that will be transported just next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or another vehicle, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the entire space in the van.

Check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to carry your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will receive  lots of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their trucks. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
