Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is an effective form of shipment of a smaller consignment which is not in need of a lot of space and may be very often kept on pallets. Less that Truckload exploits spare surface in the car by merging several autonomous cargos. LTL is affordable since people can distribute the price of the shipment with other people who also are willing to take a fraction of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL cargos usually have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles specialised in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 t and should be congruous with the rules constituted in a particular region. There are many types of vehicles that may be used in the LTL shipping, but they have to be always correctly adjusted to the type of the elements which will be dispatched.

The charge for the transportation is subject to a few factors. Primarly, content and weight of the freightage. The person who order a shipment should also give a delivery man data about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you expect to be covered by the service – is it just the transport or does it also cover loading and unloading.

Assuming that you notice that area available via the LTL is not sufficient to transport your object, you may want to make use of another option – full truck load (FTL).
