Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only expensive, but also hard to secure when shipped. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with transport we got. It is doable to ship a motorbike or a scooter without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Owing to some helpful advice you will prevent any scratches, and dents that may happen if a moped or motorcycle is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is designed for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp angles or elements that may possibly rip the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike inside a truck. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike standing safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing to be considered will be the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the van and other objects that might be transported just next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or van, can let you ship your motorcycle not occupying the whole space in the car.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to transport your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you can get  lots of great offers from shipping companies who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, the service gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
