Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only worth a lot, but also not easy to protect while being shipped. However, it turns out that most of it depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we gained. It is doable to ship a motorcycle or a moped without obstacles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of shipment. Owing to some helpful tricks you will prevent any scratches, and dents that are likely to happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are transporting the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only 2 belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or items that may possibly cut the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike inside a truck. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorbike mounted safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned above. One thing to be considered is the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the truck and other objects that might be transported with the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or van, can let you transport your motorcycle not occupying the whole space in the car.

Do not forget to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorcycle. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you can get  multiple great quotes from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can adjust the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
