Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only expensive, but also hard to secure when shipped. Though, it turns out that most of it depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with transport we gained. It is doable to transport a motorbike or a moped without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some useful tricks you will avoid any damages, and dents that are likely to happen if a scooter or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are moving the motorcycle using a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this situation you will need only 2 belts. It's essential to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp angles or objects that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also feasible to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorbike resting safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned above. One thing that should be taken under consideration is installing the side pads to protect the insides of the truck and other objects that may be transported next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or van, can let you transport your motorbike without occupying the entire space in the van.

It is important to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to carry your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you will surely receive  lots of great offers from transport providers who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can adjust the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of „empty runs”.
