Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also difficult to protect when transported. Although, it turns out that most of it depends on the way we do it and how much previous experience with transport we got. It is feasible to transport a motorcycle or a scooter without obstacles, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the type of shipment. Owing to some valuable advice you will avoid any scratches, and dents that may happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are transporting the motorbike on a trailer you will need four belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is created for motorcycles or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only two strapping belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or elements that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also possible to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment needed to keep the motorcycle standing safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering is installing the side pads to protect the insides of the van and other objects that may be transported next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or van, can let you ship your motorbike without occupying the whole space in the truck.

Remember to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be enough to carry your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you will get  a lot of great quotes from transport providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can adjust the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
