Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also hard to protect while being transported. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we have. It is possible to ship a motorbike or a moped without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way you will secure it depends on the type of transportation. Thanks to some helpful tricks you can avoid any damages, and dents that may happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are shipping the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only 2 belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or objects that may possibly rip the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also feasible to transport a motorbike inside a truck. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorbike mounted safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be the installation of the side pads to secure the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported just next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or van, can help you ship your motorcycle not occupying the entire space in the van.

Do not forget to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.
