Glassware

When shipping glass, one of the most important tasks is securing the cargo before transport. When transporting fragile goods simple box will not do. You need to pack the gaps between your cargo and walls of the package with substances that can help to avoid any jolting of the glass during transport. One of the ways to guarantee that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or soft materials that will stop potential jolting and therefore save your glass from cracking. Furthermore you could wrap your cargo in bubble foil, especially all the parts that are fine and extra fragile. Close the bubble foil with adhesive tape just to be sure it will not unfold during shipment. When you finished wrapping, you should fil all of the gaps in the box – with Styrofoam or even newspapers.

If you want to move large items of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you should not only secure it from breaking, but also from fracturing. You can wrap the glass in thick sheet of bubble wrap, tie it with Scotch tape and put it in a cardboard box. Make sure to write on top of the cardboard box that it is fragile. You may also use pre-made stickers for glassware loads.

Smaller glassware (like glasses or bottles} can be secured by old newspapers, paper or even towels. Next phase is to deposit them in a container so that they will not touch while transported. In similar manner you should secure porcelain and crystals. When transporting bigger glass products (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or clothes.

Price of glassware transport is connected with weight and dimensions of the cargo, route lenght as well as delivery dates. Additional price-defining factor is whether or not you require using expert packing materials and guidance securing the load.
