Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a practical form of shipment of a relatively small cargo which does not need a lot of space and is often placed on pallets. LTL benefits available area in the car by combining several autonomous cargos. This kind of shipment is cheaper since principals have an opportunity to distribute the price of the shipment with other people who also have to take a share of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL cargos normally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and have to be congruous with the specifications established in one location. There are different versions of cars that are appropriate to be part of the LTL, but they should be always correctly tailored to the size of the elements which are going to be dispatched.

The financial aspect of the transportation is based on several features. Firstly, height and width and weight of the product. The person who order a shipment need to also provide a carrier data about the packaging. Don’t forget to mention what you expect to be covered by the service – is it just the transport or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Assuming that you realise that space available via the LTL is not enough to transport your product, you can use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
