Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) poses an effective form of shipment of a not big freight that does not require a big area and may be usually transported on pallets. It exploits extra surface in the car by a consolidation of several independent freightages. This method is cost-effective since people can share the shipment cost with the others that also have to use a fraction of the surface available in the car. LTL shipments ordinarily have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and should be congruous with the arrangements established in one region. There are numerous categories of trucks which can serve in the LTL shipping, but they must be always adequately adjusted to the type of the products which are going to be moved.

The cost of the shipping is a result of a few factors. Primarly, magnitude and mass of the product. The person who order a shipment need to also give a transporter an information about the way the product is packed. You should also mention what you hope to be incorporated in the service – is it no more than the transport or does it also consist of loading and unloading.

Assuming that it turns out that space available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to ship your object, you could choose its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
