Glassware

When transporting glass, one of the crucial tasks is packing the load safely. When transporting fragile goods simple box will not ensure safe transport. You must fill the gaps between your cargo and walls of the container with substances that can block movement of the glass during shipment. One of the ways to guarantee that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block potential jolting and therefore save your fragile load from fracturing. Furthermore you need to wrap your load with bubble foil, particularly all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Secure the bubble foil with Scotch tape just to be sure the bubble wrap won’t loosen during transport. When you are done covering, you need to fil all of the empty space left in the container – with Styrofoam or even pieces of cardboard.

If you want to move big elements of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you ought to not only protect it from breaking, but also from scratching. You could surround the glass with substantial layer of bubble wrap, tie it with adhesive tape and place it in a box. Do not forget to mention on top of the box that the box should be handled with care. You could also use pre-made stamps for fragile packages.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} may be secured by old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to place them in a container so that they won't touch during shipment. The same way you should ship porcelain and crystals. When transporting bigger glass items (like chandeliers) it is good to use an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or clothes.

Price of glass transport depends on weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght and delivery dates. Another price-defining aspect is whether or not you require using professional packing materials and guidance securing the cargo.
