Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a good way of delivery of a smaller cargo which is not in need of a big surface and is usually stored on pallets. Less that Truckload makes use of spare space in the car by merging several separate freightages. This method is affordable as companies have an opportunity to distribute the price of the shipment with other people who also want to take a share of the surface available in the car. LTL cargos mostly have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Vehicles which are used in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 t and should be congruous with the rules being in force in a given region. There are many categories of trucks that could serve in the LTL shipping, but they have to be always appropriately adjusted to the type of the products that are going to be transported.

The cost of the delivery is a result of a few factors. Primarly, height and width and mass of the cargo. The person ordering should also give a transporter an information about the packaging. You should also mention what you wish to be covered by the service – is it no more than the transport or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Whenever you realise that space available via the LTL is not sufficient to transport your object, you may decide to use its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
