When it comes to moving glassware, one of the most important things to think about is securing the cargo safely. In this case simple container will not be enough. You must pack the areas between your glassware and walls of the package with materials that will prevent movement of the glassware during shipment. One of the ways to guarantee that is to use Styrofoam or soft materials that will stop possible jolting and therefore protect your fragile cargo from damaging. Additionally you could cover your glassware in bubble wrap, especially all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Close the bubble foil with Scotch tape to make sure it won’t unfold during transport. After wrapping, you should pack all of the gaps in the box – with Styrofoam or even pieces of cardboard.

If you need to ship large items of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you should not only secure it from shattering, but also from scratching. You could wrap the glass in thick sheet of bubble wrap, secure it with Scotch tape and put it in a cardboard box. Do not forget to write on top of the cardboard box that the package contains glassware. You could also use pre-made labels for delicate packages.

Small glassware (like glasses or bottles} can be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to store them in a cardboard box so that they will not knock against each other while shipped. The same way you may secure porcelain and crystals. When dealing with large glass items (like chandeliers) it is best to add an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or clothes.

Price of glass shipment is determined by weight and dimensions of the load, route lenght as well as delivery dates. Another price-defining aspect is whether or not you want to use professional packing materials and aid securing the cargo.
