Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) poses an effective form of transportation of a relatively small consignment which does not necessitate a big surface and may be usually transported on pallets. It makes use of free space in the truck by merging several different cargos. LTL is cost-effective as principals are able to distribute the transportation costs with other people who also need to use a share of the area available in the car. LTL cargos mostly have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars which are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 t and are required to be congruous with the rules set in a particular region. There are different types of cars which are fit to be used in the LTL, but they must be always correctly suited to the kind of the products that are going to be a part of the cargo.

The financial aspect of the shipping is dependent on several aspects. Primarly, magnitude and weight of the cargo. The person ordering need to also provide a delivery man an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you hope to be covered by the service – is it only the transport or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

If it turns out that the cargo space available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to ship your product, you can choose another option – full truck load (FTL).
