Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a good form of transport of a smaller commodity that does not take a spacious place and can be often stored on pallets. It benefits free area in the car by a consolidation of more than one different freightages. Less than Truckload is affordable since companies are able to split the shipment cost with the others that also need to use a share of the surface available in the car. LTL freightages commonly have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Trucks that are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 t and should be in accordance with the requirements set in a particular region. There are many types of vehicles which are appropriate to be used in the LTL, but they must be always adequately tailored to the size of the products which are going to be delivered.

The charge for the delivery may vary depending on several factors. Primarly, magnitude and weight of the freightage. The person who order a shipment need to also provide a transporter an information about the packaging. Don’t forget to mention what you expect to be incorporated in the service – is it no more than the shipment or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

Whenever you realise that area available via the LTL is not enough to dispatch your object, you should decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
