Glassware

When moving glass, one of the crucial things to think about is packing the cargo for the transport. When transporting fragile goods simple box will not do. You must pack the gaps between your glassware and walls of the box with substances that will block any jolting of the glassware during transport. One of the ways to guarantee that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or soft materials that will block potential tremors and save your glassware from damaging. Furthermore you need to cover your glassware with bubble foil, particularly all the parts that are fine and prone to damage. Fasten the bubble wrap with adhesive tape to make certain it won’t unfold during transport. When you finished wrapping, you should pack all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you have to move large elements of glassware (like mirrors or window glass) you need to not only secure it from shattering, but also from scratching. You could wrap the glassware in thick layer of bubble wrap, fasten it with adhesive tape and put it in a container. Make sure to mention on top of the container that it is fragile. You may also use pre-made labels for delicate cargo.

Smaller glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be secured by outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next phase is to put them in a cardboard box so that they won't touch while transported. In similar manner you can transport porcelain and crystals. When shipping large glass elements (like chandeliers) it is best to add an extra layer of soft materials, for example sponge or towels.

Price of glass shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, distance and delivery days. Another price-defining aspect is whether or not you want to use expert packing materials and assistance securing the load.
