Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes an effective way of transportation of a smaller cargo which does not take a lot of space and is usually transported on pallets. Less that Truckload takes advantage of available space in the truck by putting together more than one independent freightages. This method is cost-effective since principals may share the transportation costs with the others that also want to use some part of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL freightages ordinarily have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars specialised in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 t and need to be compatible with the arrangements set in a particular country. There are numerous categories of cars which are appropriate to serve in the LTL shipping, but they have to be always appropriately tailored to the dimension of the elements that will be a part of the cargo.

The charge for the transportation may vary depending on several factors. Primarly, size and mass of the freightage. The principal ought to also give a transporter data about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you hope to be included in the service – is it nothing but the transportation or does it also include loading and unloading.

If you realise that the cargo space available via the LTL is not enough to ship your cargo, you should choose another option – full truck load (FTL).
