Types of caravans

A Conventional caravan – as the name suggests, this is the most common type of caravan. It has 4 sturdy walls and a full height rood. Mentioned type can range in length and in the number of rooms, but in general it ensures pretty satisfying travelling environment. Conventional caravans come in one or two axles.

B Tent trailer – is a type of caravan that is a great choice if you want to decrease the costs. Tent trailer may be towed by nearly every car , moreover it usually contains most of the elementary equipment, like shower and a fridge. Tent trailer provide you considerable amount of living space however offers very little wind resistance.

C Pop-top caravans -  this type is similar to conventional caravans with the addition of a expendable roof, which helps to increase the living space. Pop-top caravans, similar to a tent trailer does not provide much wind resistance.

4) Pop-out caravans – this type of caravan has all the advantages of a pop-top caravan as well as added pop-out area on the foot and the head of the vehicle, which creates a convienient spot to place additional beds, in case you are in need of them. Pop-out caravans are the most favored by large families.

5) Camper trailers – they offer not as much living space as most of the types mentioned above, but thanks to having the most needed elementary equipment (shower, fridge and so on) camper trailers are considered to be a comfortable and budget way of travelling.

F The fifth-wheeler – this is the biggest type of caravan. It provides with considerable amount of living space, so that whole families can travel in comfort. Due to its considerable size,  the fifth-wheeler requires a larger vehicle to tow it (like a pickup truck).

It is not always possible to ship a caravan on your own – it depends on whether you have enough time to drive needed distance and whether the caravan itself is capable of travelling such distance.

In case you decide to find a shipping provider to move your caravan, check if you have the precise dimensions of the caravan. Also check if its insurance is up-to-date. Moreover, instruct the transport provider about state of the caravan – e.g. whether brakes work properly.

When hiring a transport provider to transport your caravan you don’t have to think about your driving license or speed limits  - all the regulations apply to the transport provider. Furthermore, transport companies frequently invest in product liability insurance, which ensures you a compensation, should anything happens with the caravan during transportation.

Price of shipping a caravan

Cost of shipping a caravan depends on its dimensions and weight (as it is with almost every type of cargo}. Other than that , the cost is also defined by the condition of the vehicle – if it is undamaged, you are likely to get cheaper price.
