Kinds of caravans

A Conventional caravan – as can be deduced from the name, this is the most common kind of caravan. This type has four sturdy walls as well as a full height rood. Mentioned type can range in length and in the amount of rooms, still in general it guarantees pretty convenient travelling environment. Conventional caravans come in one or 2 axles.

2) Tent trailer – is a type of caravan that is a good choice in case you want to lower the costs. Tent trailer can be towed by almost any car , moreover it often contains most of the elementary equipment, like shower and a fridge. Tent trailer provide you considerable amount of living space however offers very little wind resistance.

3) Pop-top caravans -  this kind is very much alike conventional caravans with the exception of a expendable roof, that helps expanding the living space. Pop-top caravans, much like a tent trailer provides very little wind resistance.

4) Pop-out caravans – this kind of caravan is equipped with all the features of a pop-top caravan and added expandable area on the ends of the vehicle, which is a perfect spot to fit additional beds, in case you need them. Pop-out caravans are especially favored by big families.

E Camper trailers – they offer not as much living space as the types described above, but thanks to having all the basic equipment (shower, fridge and so on) camper trailers are considered to be a comfortable and budget way of travelling.

6) The fifth-wheeler – this is the biggest kind of caravan. It offers very big amount of living space, so that whole families can travel pleasantly. Due to its large size,  the fifth-wheeler requires a larger vehicle to tow it (such as a pickup truck).

It is not always possible to transport a caravan on your own – such decision depends on whether you have right amount of time to cover required distance and whether the caravan itself is capable of covering the distance.

If you choose to find a transport company to transport your caravan, check if you have the exact dimensions of the caravan. Additionally make sure that its insurance hasn’t expired. Moreover, inform the transport provider about condition of the caravan – e.g. whether brakes work properly.

When hiring a transport provider to move your caravan you do not need to think about your driving license or speed limits  - all the requirements concern the transport provider. Furthermore, transport providers often have product liability insurance, which ensures you a compensation, should anything happens with the caravan on the road.

Cost of transporting a caravan

Price of transporting a caravan hinges on its dimensions and weight (similar to almost every type of cargo}. Additionally, the cost is also defined by the condition of the caravan – if it is able to drive on its own, you are likely to pay less.
