Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only valuable, but also difficult to secure while being transported. Though, it turns out that everything depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we have gathered. It is possible to ship a motorcycle or a moped without hussle, no doubts about that. The way it will be secured depends on the mean of shipment. Thanks to some valuable tricks you could avoid any scratches, and dents that may happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly secured.

When you are transporting the motorbike using a trailer you will need 4 belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer specially dedicated for motorcycles or scooters, it already is equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is important to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp edges or objects that may possibly cut the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike inside a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not vary too much from other methods mentioned above. One thing to be considered is the installation of the side pads to protect the insides of the car and other objects that may be transported just next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a truck or van, can help you ship your motorbike without occupying the whole space in the van.

Check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will suffice to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting an offer on Clicktrans you will receive  multiple great offers from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with decreasing number of ”empty running”.
