Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a practical method of shipment of a small commodity which does not take a big surface and is very often kept on pallets. It makes use of spare surface in the car by combining several different freightages. Less than Truckload is cheaper because businesses can split the price of the shipment with other people who also have to use a share of the space available in the car. LTL shipments mostly weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars that are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 t and are required to be in accordance with the arrangements established in a given region. There are plentiful of types of trucks which can be part of the LTL, but they must be always adequately tailored to the kind of the cargos which are going to be moved.

The financial aspect of the shipping is calculated depending on several factors. Primarly, size and weight of the commodity. The person ordering need to also give a transporter an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you wish to be included in the service – is it nothing but the transport or does it also include loading and unloading.

Whenever you notice that the cargo space available via the less than truckload is not enough to ship your object, you may make use of a different option – full truck load (FTL).
