Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes a good way of shipment of a not big freight that does not demand a lot of space and is often stored on pallets. Less that Truckload benefits extra space in the car by merging several autonomous freightages. This method is cheaper since companies have an opportunity to share the price of the shipment with the others who also are willing to use a share of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL cargos ordinarily weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars that are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and are required to be congruous with the specifications being in force in a particular region. There are many categories of trucks which may serve in the LTL shipping, but they have to be always appropriately suited to the type of the commodity that will be moved.

The charge for the transportation is based on several features. Primarly, content and mass of the object. The person who order a shipment need to also present a transporter data about the packaging. You should also mention what you wish to be incorporated in the service – is it only the transportation or does it also encompass loading and unloading.

If you notice that space available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to transport your object, you may want to make use of another option – full truck load (FTL).
