Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and scooters are not only valuable, but also difficult to protect while being transported. However, it turns out that everything depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we have gathered. It is possible to transport a motorcycle or a scooter without difficulties, undoubtedly. The way you will secure it depends on the type of shipment. Owing to some useful advice you can avoid any scratches, and dents that may happen if a moped or motorcycle is not properly secured.

When you are transporting your motorbike on a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is created for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook will not open up accidentaly during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or parts that may possibly tear up the belts and hinder your efforts. It's also reasonable to transport a motorbike in a truck. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorcycle resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing to be considered will be the installation of the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the car and other objects that will be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or van, can let you transport your motorbike not occupying the whole space in the truck.

Remember to check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will suffice to ship your motorbike. For example, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting your request on Clicktrans you will get  a lot of great offers from shipping providers registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can arrange the transport, so that they can utilise the full capacity of their trucks. Thanks to that, transport gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
