Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only worth a lot, but also hard to secure while being transported. Although, it turns out that the majority depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with transport we had gathered. It is feasible to transport a motorbike or a scooter without hussle, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the type of shipment. Owing to some useful tips you could prevent any scratches, and dents that may happen if a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorcycle using a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer that is dedicated for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this situation you will need only two belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed hook should not open up accidentaly during the shipment.

It is also worth checking the sharp angles or items that may possibly cut the belts and make it impossible to safely transport your motorcycle. It's also feasible to transport a motorbike inside a van. The protection and equipment necessary to keep the motorcycle resting safely in one place will not vary too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported just next to the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a truck or van, can help you transport your motorcycle not occupying the whole space in the car.

Check with the transport company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to ship your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your motorbike and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause severe damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When posting your request on Clicktrans you will surely get  multiple great offers from transport companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their vans. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less „empty runs”.
