Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorcycles and scooters are not only valuable, but also hard to secure when transported. Though, it turns out that the majority depends on how we do it and how much previous experience with shipping we have. It is doable to ship a motorcycle or a scooter without obstacles, undoubtedly. The way it will be secured depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some helpful tricks you will avoid any scratches, and dents that may happen when a moped or motorbike is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping your motorbike on a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer which is designed for motorbikes or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorcycle. In this case you will need only 2 belts. It's neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one should not open up by accident during the transport.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or objects that may possibly tear up the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also possible to transport a motorcycle in a van. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorcycle installed safely in one place will not differ too much from other methods mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be the installation of the side pads to prevent any damage to the insides of the truck and other objects that will be transported with the motorbike.

There are also platforms that attached to a car or another vehicle, can let you ship your motorcycle not occupying the entire space in the truck.

Remember to check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be enough to ship your motorcycle. For instance, using a wooden stand for lifting your scooter and loading it in a truck could pose danger to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause substantial damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When listing your motorcycle on Clicktrans you can get  lots of great offers from transport companies who have their account on Clicktrans.

Many of these companies can adjust the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their cars. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more environmentally friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
