Motorcycles & Scooters

Motorbikes and mopeds are not only valuable, but also difficult to secure while being transported. Although, it turns out that most of it depends on the way we do it and how much prior experience with shipping we had gathered. It is possible to ship a motorbike or a moped without difficulties, no doubts about that. The way you will secure it depends on the method of shipment. Thanks to some valuable tips you can avoid any damages, and dents that often happen when a scooter or motorcycle is not properly cared for.

When you are shipping the motorbike on a trailer you will need four strapping belts to strap it down. If you use a trailer specially dedicated for motorcycles or scooters, it already has been equipped with the rail that stabilises the motorbike. In this case you will need only 2 strapping belts. It is neccessary to use a closed hook at the ends of the belts, rather than an open one. The closed one will not open up by accident during the shipment.

It is also worth looking at the sharp edges or objects that may possibly cut the belts and make the safe transport impossible. It's also feasible to transport a motorbike in a van. The protection and equipment required to keep the motorbike resting safely in one place will not differ too much from other ways mentioned before. One thing worth considering will be installing the side pads to protect the insides of the truck and other objects that might be transported next to the motorcycle.

There are also platforms that hooked to a car or van, can let you transport your motorbike without occupying the whole space in the van.

Check with the shipping company if the equipment they provide will be sufficient to transport your motorbike. For instance, using a wooden platform for lifting your motorcycle and loading it in a van could be dangerous to people providing the service or pedestrians passing by, but could also cause serious damage to your motorbike/motorcycle.

When putting an offer on Clicktrans you will get  multiple great offers from shipping companies registered on Clicktrans.

Many of these providers can organise the transport, so that they can use the full capacity of their trucks. Thanks to that, shipment gets cheaper and more eco-friendly with less and less ”empty running”.
