Glassware

When it comes to transporting glassware, the crucial task is securing the cargo before shipment. When transporting fragile goods simple container will not be enough. You have to pack the space between your load and walls of the package with substances that will help to avoid movement of the glassware throughout shipment. Good way to ensure that is to use Styrofoam or soft materials that will stop potential tremors and therefore save your glass from damaging. Additionally you can cover your cargo with bubble foil, especially all the parts that are fine and extra fragile. Close the bubble wrap with Scotch tape just to be certain the bubble wrap won’t unfold during transport. When you finished covering, you should fil all of the empty space left in the box – with Styrofoam or even pieces of cardboard.

If you need to move big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you need to not only protect it from breaking, but also from scratching. You could surround the glass with substantial sheet of bubble foil, close it with Scotch tape and place it in a container. Do not forget to mention on top of the box that the box contains glassware. You may also use pre-made stickers for fragile packages.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} may be wrapped in old newspapers, paper or even clothes. Next step is to put them in a cardboard box so that they won't touch while transported. The same way you can secure porcelain and crystals. When shipping big glass products (like chandeliers) it is best to add an extra layer of soft materials, like sponge or towels.

Price of glass shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the load, distance as well as delivery days. Another price-defining aspect is whether or not you require using expert packing materials and guidance securing the cargo.
