Glassware

When it comes to transporting glassware, the crucial task is packing the load before shipment. When transporting fragile goods simple box will not ensure safe transport. You must fill the areas between your load and walls of the package with materials that will block movement of the glassware throughout transport. Good way to guarantee that is to use Styrofoam or spongy materials that will block potential jolting and save your glassware from cracking. Additionally you need to wrap your glassware with bubble wrap, especially all the parts that are delicate and prone to damage. Tie the bubble foil with Scotch tape to make sure it will not unfold during transport. When you are done covering, you need to stuff all of the gaps in the container – with some spongy material or even newspapers.

If you want to ship large pieces of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you should not only protect it from shattering, but also from scratching. You could wrap the glass in substantial layer of bubble wrap, secure it with Scotch tape and deposit it in a container. Do not forget to write on top of the container that the box should be handled with care. You could also use pre-made stickers for fragile cargo.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} could be wrapped in outdated magazines, paper or even towels. Next phase is to deposit them in a container so that they won't knock against each other while shipped. The same way you can secure porcelain and crystals. When dealing with big glassware items (like chandeliers) it is good to add an extra layer of soft materials, for example sponge or towels.

Price of glassware shipment varies depending on weight and dimensions of the cargo, route lenght as well as delivery dates. Other price-defining factor is whether or not you need professional packing materials and help securing the cargo.
