Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) is a useful way of delivery of a smaller consignment that is not in need of a big surface and is often transported on pallets. It takes advantage of available space in the car by merging several different freightages. This method is economical because principals are able to share the shipment cost with the others who also need to use a share of the space available in the truck. LTL cargos frequently have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Cars that are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 t and have to be in accordance with the rules being in force in a particular location. There are different kinds of cars which are suitable to be part of the LTL, but they must be always appropriately tailored to the type of the elements that are going to be a part of the cargo.

The cost of the shipment is dependent on several aspects. Primarly, size and mass of the product. The principal need to also provide a delivery man data about the packaging. You should also mention what you expect to be incorporated in the service – is it nothing but the shipment or does it also cover loading and unloading.

Whenever you notice that the cargo space available via the LTL does not suffice to dispatch your object, you could decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
