Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a good form of transport of a relatively small commodity that does not need a spacious place and may be very often stored on pallets. LTL takes advantage of spare surface in the car by combining a few independent freightages. Less than Truckload is economical as principals can distribute the transportation costs with the others who also are planning to use a share of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL freightages ordinarily have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars which are used in the LTL weigh more than 3.5 tons and must be congruous with the rules established in one country. There are different versions of vehicles that may serve in the LTL, but they should be always properly suited to the dimension of the commodity that will be dispatched.

The cost of the shipping is subject to several factors. First of all, content and mass of the cargo. The principal ought to also provide a delivery man an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you expect to be covered by the service – is it no more than the shipment or does it also cover loading and unloading.

When it turns out that space available via the LTL does not suffice to transport your object, you could use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
