Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes an effective form of shipment of a relatively small product that does not need a spacious place and may be very often kept on pallets. Less that Truckload takes advantage of available space in the truck by a consolidation of a few different freightages. This kind of shipment is cheaper since businesses can share the transportation costs with the others who also are planning to take a share of the area available in the car. LTL cargos mostly weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL have a weight of more than 3.5 t and are required to be accordant with the arrangements established in one region. There are different types of cars that can serve in the LTL, but they must be always appropriately adjusted to the type of the commodity which will be transported.

The financial aspect of the transporting is based on a few factors. Firstly, magnitude and weight of the product. The person who order a shipment should also present a transporter an information about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you expect to be covered by the service – is it no more than the transportation or does it also cover loading and unloading.

Whenever you notice that the cargo space available via the less than truckload does not suffice to dispatch your object, you may want to decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
