Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) constitutes an effective method of transport of a small freight that does not require a spacious place and can be very often stored on pallets. This method makes use of unused space in the truck by combining several different cargos. Less than Truckload is economical because businesses can share the price of the shipment with other people that also have to use a share of the cargo space available in the car. LTL cargos commonly weigh between 151 and 20,000 pounds.

Vehicles that are used in the LTL weigh over 3.5 t and should be accordant with the arrangements that are in force in a particular location. There are plentiful of categories of vehicles which are fit to be used in the LTL, but they have to be always adequately adjusted to the kind of the commodity that are going to be a part of the cargo.

The charge for the shipping is based on a few aspects. Primarly, magnitude and mass of the freightage. The person ordering need to also present a carrier an information about the packaging. It is also worth mentioning what you expect to be included in the service – is it nothing but the shipment or does it also include loading and unloading.

Whenever you realise that space available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to dispatch your object, you can make use of a different option – full truck load (FTL).
