Pallet transport

Pallet transport

Pallets are utilised to ship deliveries of different types – they serve as "a cushion" for shipping sets of small packages, items or some bulky furniture difficult to ship. Pallets shipping is one of the most frequently chosen way of transport for shipping large loads. On pallets you often ship deliveries of weight above 70 kg for instance iron gates, boxes, construction equipement etcetera. To get the best price for shipping pallets from skilled shipping companies that specialise in pallet transport list your delivery on Clicktrans. The key thing in calculating pallet shipping is to doublecheck the exact number, weight and type of items that will be shipped. Loaded pallets are lifted by forklifts.

Europallets and other kinds of pallets

Europallet, also called EPAL or EURO is the one most frequently used in pallet transport. Its standard dimensions are 800x1200x150 milimeters. These figures can be different depending on the type and application of pallets, although europalet dimensions are rather consistent from one producer to another. In the industrial shipping there are also so-called EUR2 pallets. They are 1m wide, 1.2m long and 144mm tall.  The ones 1135 x 1133 milimeters are for shipping intermodal conteiners. Often, wooden pallets are overtaken by plastic ones due to their longer usability. Plastic pallets can be useful from 10 up to 15 years.

Cost of pallet shipping in Europe

Average cost of pallets transport on international routes is 120 pounds and 10p per kilometer.
