Glassware

When moving glassware, the most important task is securing the cargo beforehand. In this case simple cardboard box will not do. You need to pack the space between your cargo and walls of the container with substances that will stop movement of the glass during transport. Good way to do that is to fill the package with Styrofoam or spongy materials that will stop possible jolting and therefore save your fragile load from fracturing. Furthermore you could cover your glassware in bubble foil, especially all the elements that are thin and prone to damage. Tie the bubble foil with Scotch tape to make certain it will not loosen during transport. When you are done covering, you should fil all of the empty space left in the box – with Styrofoam or even newspapers.

If you need to ship big pieces of glassware (like mirrors or glass shelves) you should not only secure it from shattering, but also from fracturing. You must wrap the glassware in substantial layer of bubble foil, secure it with adhesive tape and store it in a box. Do not forget to write on top of the container that the box should be handled with care. You may also use pre-made stamps for glassware loads.

Small glassware (like goblets or bottles} can be secured by outdated magazines, paper or even clothes. Next step is to deposit them in a cardboard box so that they won't touch during shipment. In similar manner you may secure porcelain and crystals. When transporting large glassware items (like chandeliers) it is best to use an extra layer of soft materials, e.g. sponge or towels.

Price of glass transport is determined by weight and dimensions of the load, distance as well as delivery dates. Other price-defining aspect is whether or not you need expert packing materials and guidance securing the load.
