Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) poses a useful form of shipment of a smaller consignment which does not take a big area and may be often placed on pallets. LTL exploits unused surface in the car by a consolidation of more than one different cargos. This method is economical because principals may distribute the price of the shipment with other people that also have to use a bit of the cargo space available in the truck. LTL shipments commonly have a weight of between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars specialised in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 tons and must be congruous with the rules that are in force in one country. There are numerous types of cars that may serve in the LTL, but they must be always appropriately adjusted to the type of the cargos which are going to be a part of the cargo.

The charge for the delivery is based on a few aspects. Firstly, size and weight of the product. The person who order a shipment need to also provide a carrier an information about the way the product is packed. You should also mention what you wish to be included in the service – is it simply the transportation or does it also include loading and unloading.

Assuming that you realise that volume available via the less than truckload does not meet your requirements to transport your object, you can decide to use a different option – full truck load (FTL).
