Less Than Truckload

Less than Truckload (LTL) represents a good method of shipment of a not big freight that does not necessitate a big area and may be often stored on pallets. This method takes advantage of free surface in the car by merging a few different freightages. This kind of shipment is cheaper as people have an opportunity to share the price of the shipment with other people that also have to use a fraction of the cargo space available in the car. LTL freightages normally weigh between 151 and 20,000 lb.

Cars specialised in the LTL have a weight of over 3.5 tons and must be accordant with the rules constituted in a particular region. There are many categories of trucks that may be used in the LTL, but they should be always correctly suited to the type of the elements that are going to be shipped.

The financial aspect of the transporting is based on a few factors. Firstly, content and mass of the cargo. The person ordering should also present a transporter an information about the way the product is packed. Don’t forget to mention what you hope to be covered by the service – is it just the transport or does it also include loading and unloading.

Assuming that you notice that space available via the less than truckload is not enough to dispatch your object, you should use its alternative – full truck load (FTL).
